Our Origin
At the suggestion of Mrs Chee Keng Soon, Principal of Crescent Girls’ School from 1977-1979, a group of ex-Crescentians formed a protem committee and established The Crescent Girls’ School Alumnae Association (CGSAA) in February 1980.
Today, CGSAA is a community that welcomes all alumni of Crescent Girls’ School (CGS) including staff and members of the school who have had an impact on CGS since its inception. The CGSAA comprises a sisterhood shaped by diverse backgrounds and shared experiences, and is an association underpinned by a strong alumni network.
Central to our endeavours as ladies and leaders are the values of togetherness and compassion, for the CGSAA serves as a conduit for connecting old and new alumni of CGS, and strives to be a source of inspiration to current and past students alike.
Our Logo
Designed by Ms. Veronica Wee Sook Fun (graduating cohort of 1977), the CGSAA logo represents Stability, Strength and Sisterhood amongst the Alumnae community.
The closeness and linking of the letters “CGSAA” represent the togetherness and connection we share as an alumni, and represents us who may have graduated but remain close to the school and our fellow school mates.
The rounded corners of the font depict Crescentians as all-rounders; designed in italics, it also symbolises Crescentians moving forward and striving together.
